Africa’s growing urban areas and industrial growth continue to exert on water systems . These pressures of rapid industrialization, especially in developing countries, booming population and climate change, need to have solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of water technologies and management strategies.
The design of water and wastewater treatment facilities requires careful planning, clear understanding of legal implications, future expansion considerations,
and operation and maintenance requirements. The objectives of this extensive 3 day courses are to present recent developments in the design of municipal/ industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Current and future trends, recently promulgated regulatory changes, and procedures for planning, design and operation, and security vulnerability assessment of water and wastewater treatment plants are discussed.
Objectives:
• How to assess/Analyze the existing water treatment Plant Performance that they have
• How to design or check the existing plant Design and validate.
• How to design: Clarifiers, Sand and Activated carbon filters, Ion Exchange Cation/
Anion/Mixed bed Units and Reverse Osmosis Units.
• How to understand the exact sizing, designing and maintenance aspects of the WTP
expansion needs.
• How to improve the performance (saving on manpower and operation cost) of any
Ion Exchange /Reverse osmosis Plant
• Introduction to zero Liquid Discharge and Effluent Treatment Methods for Waste Water.
• How to be aware the Environmental facts of any Water treatment Plant
